Scott
Before becoming owner, caretaker and primary farmhand at Howlin Hollows, Scott Welch worked in a high-paced, growing industrial company for over twenty years. He earned the respect of his colleagues through hard work and dedication, but he wanted to use those talents for more. One of Scott’s favorite parts of life is running and playing with the family dogs, and he’s thrilled to dedicate his days to making sure other pet owners get to experience the joy of seeing their pets have fun on the farm.
Kimi
Kimi Welch worked in the legal profession for twenty years, but she’s cared for and owned pets since she was a little girl. Kimi traveled frequently for work, and she knows the heartbreak of leaving your dogs behind. She also knows how important it is to find people who will truly care for and love your pets when you’re away from them, and how special it is to find a real home-away-from-home for your furry family members — so she feels honored that she and Scott are able to provide that service for Howlin Hollows clients.
Welchs Black Onyx “Onyx”
Onyx aka “Boogie or Slime Bucket” was our loving and friendly black Labrador May 28, 2006-April 12, 2015. He was extremely obedient, making him ideal for competition — he was the first dog the Welch family competed with. He competed in Field Trials all over the South and Mid-West including the Canadian Field Trial Circuit. Onyx knew when the sun started going down it was dinner time! He worked up an appetite running, competing, and of course playing in the water – which he loved most.
Welchs Yellow Diamond “Diamond”
Diamond aka “DD” is a yellow Lab who is the Queen of the Welch house. Most of the time you will find her lounging in sun catching some z’s and watching her siblings play. She was also Onyx’s mom. Diamond is fun, kind and obedient.
Prospect Welchs Yellow Sapphire “Savvy”
Savvy aka “Savvy Girl or Little One” is very loving and energetic, and obedient, too. Her Field Trial skills came from her father NAFC FC AFC Cody Cut a Lean Grade. Along with Onyx, she has competed all over the South and Mid-West as well as the Canadian Field Trail Circuit. She loves to lay on her “cool bed” on the screened in porch to watch for squirrels and chipmunks — her boundless energy can be a lot to handle sometimes, but we love it!
Welchs Black Brute of Devil “Hoss”
Hoss aka “Buddy Buddy” is the child of 2012 National Field Trail Champion. After being home a couple days Scott started calling him “Little Devil Dog” – that’s how he received his AKC name. He’s always running 100 mph, ready for horseplay, and always being rambunctious! When he slows down he is very loving and constantly wants to be petted. The Welch house would be boring without him.
